The Tom Fazio-designed golf course was completed in July of 1992. In 1993, Golf Digest recognized The Old North State Club as the #2 private golf course in the United States. For the past six years, North Carolina Magazine reported that its panel of noted golf professionals and sports writers voted The Old North State Club golf course as one of the top two golf courses in North Carolina.
